Nest and Gap Inc. are teaming up to host the Holiday Makers Market, an opportunity to engage with and shop from 40 local makers, artists, and creative entrepreneurs. Join us in celebrating the creative spirit of San Francisco!

Meet the Makers

Representing a wide range of craft types—including jewelry, ceramics, woodworking, and more—40 makers will be showcasing and selling their handmade goods at the market–just in time for holiday gift giving!

Mixed Media + Upcycling Live Art Demonstration with Wendy Trattner

Wendy Trattner is an emerging artist and content creator in San Francisco, creating abstract paintings that tie together science, emotion, and big questions about life.

After losing her parents at a young age, Wendy's lifelong quest for meaning led her to graduate from MIT as a mechanical engineer, and then leave her tech career to pursue her love of art. Her work has been showcased at the Reno Tahoe International Art Show, The Drawing Room Gallery, Superfine Art Fair, Tartine Bakery, and Art Battle events in Oakland and San Francisco.

Saturday + Sunday, December 7 – 8 | 12 – 2 pm

Preserved Moss Workshop
with Bernal Burrow

You will be creating (2) 5"x5" preserved moss and plant shadow boxes. These can hang on the wall or sit on a table. These plants are real, but no longer alive. The plants go through a preservation process where the texture of the plant is preserved, but killing it in the process.

Dye is used to bring some color back to the plants. There is ZERO maintenance involved once completed. Hang and enjoy!

Intro to Punch Needle with Caroline Powell

Join San Francisco artist and Gap digital designer, Caroline Powell as she teaches a modern take on the traditional craft of Punch Needling.

This workshop will cover everything from tools and terminology to process and finishing techniques. There will be demos and plenty of time to work on your project. At the end of the course, you will feel confident to continue finishing your unique piece of punch needle art. No experience is required!

Screen Printing Demonstrations with Clinton Reno

Old Navy graphic designer and screen printing pro Clinton Reno will walk guests through the process and demonstrate the machine and techniques using a custom graphic designed to celebrate San Francisco’s creative community.

No registration required and no cost to attend.

  • No, there is no fee to enter the Holiday Makers Market. Each vendor will have its own point of sale.

  • Yes, the event venue is ADA compliant.

  • Yes, bathrooms will be available for use during Holiday Makers Market hours.

  • Only service animals will be permitted into the building. Guests accompanied by a service animal should inform staff of its designation upon entry.

  • The building is not able to hold or store any personal items like jackets, umbrellas, backpacks, or bikes, etc.
